A fun and educational tour of Friar's Bush Graveyard with historian Dr. Robyn for Junior Historians (aged 6-11) including lots of activities (and a free gift to take home)

Calling all Junior Historians!

Enter the gates of the ancient Friar's Bush Graveyard and learn all about its fascinating history from a real historian. If your child likes Horrible Histories, they will love this!

Through 90 minutes of guided activities children will learn lots about the history of Belfast.

After touring through the 19th century, children will find out all about deadly diseases of the past through an interactive activity before receiving their Junior Historians pack.

This bespoke workbook includes activities for within the graveyard as well as some bonus worksheets to take home.

After each activity, historian Dr Robyn will lead the kids through what they have learned & encourage their history detecting skills.

Grown-ups will stay with their Junior Historians in the graveyard and will probably learn something too!

Each child will receive a free gift at the end of the session to take home with them.

Situated beside the Ulster Museum and Botanic Gardens, the Junior Historians Club at Friar's Bush can easily fit in to a whole day out in south Belfast.

  • It was a wonderful event. Robyn was very engaging, age appropriate and kept the children interested – they learned a lot and weren't spooked or upset despite the subject. It was a great mix of tour and activities!


  • This was a brilliant session- we all learned so much about Friar’s Bush and its surprising and often moving stories. Robyn made these accessible for the kids and really brought them to life. It was great to finally explore a place we often pass on our way to the museum, and one which our daughter can now really appreciate.
